Some dude tried to shoplift today.
My coworker made a big deal about it, saying something to the effect of
“If upstanding people, normal people, have to buy it, then why shouldn’t he?”
Which, in all honesty? She’s totally right about that. But I just don’t care. It’s not my alcohol. It’s not my money. He’s not stealing anything from me. Now, my coworker? She’s a shareholder in the company. Not that it really matters, but in essence, yeah, the guy was stealing FROM her.
But I just don’t give a fuck. I think she was a little taken aback by apparent lack of morals.
Then I was talking to my manager about an employee who, for some reason, acts like he’s homeless. Never showers, barely shaves, brings in the huge plastic bags that look like he’s used them since the dawn of fucking time…
His mom died a few months ago. I knew he didn’t like her, so when my manager said something to the effect of “I know he makes like 20 dollars an hour! he could clean up if he wanted,” I said “Yeah, and he’s got one less person to take care of so there you go!”
Instantly retracted that when I saw the look on her face.
Apparently I’m the fucking devil. Whatever.
